UPDATE The parents reportedly ended the sit-in around 2:30 p.m. Saturday after CPS officials agreed to meet with the group at a future Local School Council meeting. DNAinfo has more.
Parents of students at Walter Gresham Elementary School staged a sit-in at the school, telling media they were not leaving until a Chicago Public Schools official or Mayor Rahm Emanuel addressed their demands.
The parents were protesting Gresham’s turnaround status the Chicago Board of Education voted in April to give the school, and the proposed replacement of the entire school’s staff.
